I guess that most of us believe, that we are able to solve a mate in two problem quite easily.

Here is a problem, that I could not solve, even I actually used almost an hour pondering it.




White to move, mate in two (no more, no less)

Let me know, how much time it takes you to find the solution to this :-)

Ok, I think I am a little stumped. Have gone through this several times quite carefully, and as far as I can tell Nc7 is mate in two - can someone tell me what I am missing?

Yes, I also found this exercise quite difficult, even if it only mate in two.

The correct white move is Ba4.
