2010 Women's World Championship Devalued

I think FIDE has devalued the 2010 Women's World Chess Championship, by forcing the champion to play in the championship cycle, and by putting her into a 2-game lottery knockout system.

If the World Champion gets to play a Challenger in a decent length match ( who is arrived at by some preliminary cycle ), then why should not the Women's Champion be accorded the same status?

To follow up on my earlier proposition that the Women's WCC is discriminatory, I note the fate of the current Women's World Champion in the 2010 WWCC:

Rd. 3 ? Kosteniuk loss ? Alexandra Kosteniuk, current Women?s World Champion, lost in Rd. 3:
Round 3 Match 01

Name FED Tit. Rtg G1 G2 Rp1 Rp2 Bz1 Bz2 SD Total
Kosteniuk, Alexandra RUS GM 2507 ? ? 0 ? 1?
Ruan, Lufei CHN WGM 2480 ? ? 1 1/2 2?

Compare this to the WCC where the Champion waits for a worthy challenger to survive the preliminary system, and then there is a world championship match. Why should this not also be the women's system?
