Frank Dixon: This game features a Scandinavian Defence line which Geoff and I have debated several times before. Despite scoring well with this line, I am still not completely convinced of the soundness of Black's play. There is a very important game in this variation, Tal vs Bronstein, Moscow 1967, where White wins convincingly, and my ideas attempt to improve on that game. So far I haven't lost, but that doesn't mean there isn't a bust somewhere. White develops efficiently, managing without h2-h3 in the opening to save time, since Black likely wasn't planning to play Bc8-g4. Black has to dance a delicate path with his Queen, since he is lagging in development, and certainly has some vulnerabilities. But it all works out well here, as peace is concluded on move 30 in a clearly drawn position.
